Milan’s Salone del Mobile to London’s Decorex

International luxury furniture design shows are where young and established designers and brands display their latest offerings. We focus on two of the biggest and best this year – Milan’s Salone del Mobile and the UK’s Decorex.

Furniture Design – Milan’s Salone del to London’s DecorexMilan’s show acts as a barometer for current and future trends in design. The Decorex team itself visited Milan for their Salone del Mobile show in April, to check out which trends are set to unfold during 2018. They found newcomer designers as well as more established names and discovered a world of design and luxury as exciting as any previous year – and quite possibly more so.

One of the biggest things that stood out this year was the turnout, due mainly to the current popularity of contemporary design¹. Visitors came to experience exhibitions and product launches from all over the world.

Amongst the fastest growing trends that were identified at Milan was the idea of purchasing Ready-to-buy products. As social media ramps up the immediacy of purchasing that which we see, so exhibitors were offering products that were ready to order or even to purchase then and there.

So now to Decorex, to be held as usual in September at Syon Park. As at Milan, emerging talent will meet established names more seamlessly than ever, with the promise of exquisite interiors enveloping each visitor from the moment they step inside.

This year Decorex is offering a ‘carte blanche’ – the concept will explore how an empty space can celebrate a new beginning, a chance to create something beautiful in the way that Decorex and its exhibitors do each year.
